The Hoosier Clean Energy Fellowship helps new and emerging young professionals and conservatives develop practical skills and adopt unique mindsets to effectively engage in Indiana’s energy sector. Hoosier Clean Energy Fellows will have the opportunity to learn about Indiana’s clean energy landscape and how energy policies guided by traditional conservative principles can leverage the powerful forces of consumer-driven free markets over heavy-handed government mandates to create jobs, expand our economy, improve national security, and ensure a sustainable and affordable clean energy future in Indiana.
Each fellow will receive valuable insight on the inner workings of how a non-profit organization operates and gain firsthand knowledge working across several different areas and disciplines to support the organization. Over the course of the three-month fellowship, fellows will engage in:
- Policy research at the state and local levels
- Op-ed / letters to the editor drafting
- Digital / social media communications
- Volunteer recruitment, grassroots organizing, and event planning
- Professional networking
As ICAEs inaugural Clean Energy Fellow, I was awarded the opportunity to engage with and grow with the ever-changing renewable landscape by a plethora of means. From policy research to comparative policy analysis, I was able to nurture my own interests and knowledge of the renewable energy space while simultaneously being part of meaningful political action. Renewable Energy is part of the future of our nation, and as the Clean Energy Fellow I felt empowered to contribute to the foundation on which Indiana’s emerging renewable energy market lies.
